Avellanas Wildlife Walk
Most nature tours near Tamarindo explore its estuary. This walk takes you to nearby Playa Avellanas, where local biologist and naturalist guides help you discover coastal forest, mangroves, estuary and beach on foot. With a group of no more than eight, we take our time to look for wildlife and understand the connections between these habitats. Your guide lives in the area and shares firsthand knowledge of its plants and animals. As we walk, we pick up litter along the route. The conservation work continues beyond the tour: Oropopo, our guides and the Avellanas community lead a local mangrove conservation project. A $2 contribution per participant is included in your booking.
