Bogotá Hidden Highlands Ecopalacio Chingaza Hiking Trail
Just beyond Bogotá, this full-day Chingaza Tour enters one of Colombia’s most important high-altitude ecosystems. Round-trip transportation from a designated meeting point takes you to Chingaza National Natural Park, where high-Andean forest and páramo protect vital water sources. Hike a seven-kilometer trail with a local environmental interpreter who explains the park’s native plants, wildlife and role in supplying water to Bogotá. You’ll also discover the Muisca history of this sacred territory and its connection to the legend of El Dorado. Climb to a viewpoint overlooking the Siecha Lagoons at nearly 3,900 meters. Andean bears and white-tailed deer inhabit the landscape, although sightings are not guaranteed. An included vegetarian snack completes this experience of mountain scenery, culture and páramo wilderness.
