Day trip to La Gomera from Tenerife South
The ferry journey to San Sebastián is already part of the experience. From there, the route climbs to the Degollada de Peraza viewpoint, with views that force you to stop and take out the camera, and continues towards the Garajonay National Park, a laurel forest declared a World Heritage site that seems taken from another era. A mid-day journey, stopping in Las Rosas for a typical gomero lunch accompanied by a live demonstration of Silbo Gomero, the whistled language with which the gomeros communicate from valley to valley. Something that is not seen anywhere else in the world. Afterward, visit Agulo, one of the most beautiful towns on the island. To close the day, I walked through San Sebastián following in the footsteps of Christopher Columbus, who stopped here before crossing the Atlantic. A complete excursion, organized by a local team with over 35 years of experience, to return to Tenerife with the feeling of having discovered another island for real.
