Explore the Oviedo Lagoon, one of the biggest treasures of the Jaragua National Park and home to a variety of wildlife. The Lagoon consists of 24 islands of different sizes and vegetation and is considered to be the best place for aquatic bird observation on the island. Go on a hike across the small island through a somewhat barren landscape where cacti dominate the scenery. Once you arrive on a scenic outpost take some time to appreciate the beautiful view over the lagoon, the Caribbean Sea, the Jaragua national park and the mountains of Bahoruco. On the way back to the hotel you make a stop in Los Patos where you enjoy a typical lunch and can take a refreshing dip in the river.
