The drive to Kuala Selangor takes around an hour, arriving in a fishing and farming town where authentic rural life remains. A stop at Bukit Melawati offers sweeping views over the Strait of Melaka, with a chance to spot silver leaf monkeys roaming the hilltop. Before darkness falls, enjoy a Chinese-style seafood dinner at one of Kuala Selangor's established waterfront restaurants. As night deepens, board a boat and head upstream along the Selangor River estuary toward the firefly colony. Thousands of fireflies blink in synchrony through thick mangrove trees, creating one of the most mesmerising natural light shows in Southeast Asia. Return to Kuala Lumpur at approximately 10:00 PM. Firefly sightings are highly likely but cannot be guaranteed due to natural conditions.
