Udawalawa Safari Elephant Orphanage Share Tour Hambanthota Port
Experience Sri Lanka’s wildlife on an approximately 6-hour shared tour from Hambantota Port to Udawalawe National Park and the Elephant Transit Home. Meet your driver at the port and travel through the scenic countryside to Udawalawe, famous for its wild Asian elephants. Enjoy a 2.5-hour safari through grasslands, forests, wetlands, and areas around the reservoir. Look for elephants, water buffalo, crocodiles, spotted deer, wild boar, monkeys, and many bird species in their natural habitat. Continue to the Elephant Transit Home, where orphaned elephant calves are cared for and prepared for release into the wild. Spend approximately 30 minutes observing the elephants during a scheduled feeding at 10:30 AM or 2:30 PM, subject to availability. Afterward, return to Hambantota Port.
