Bishop's Lodge

Bishop's Lodge is a mountain resort at 7,250 feet in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, on Bishop's Lodge Road in Santa Fe, bordering 1.7 million acres of national forest. The land was settled more than 150 years ago by Bishop Jean Baptiste Lamy, and the resort has been restored to keep its Southwestern heritage, including a historic 1860s chapel. Rooms carry kiva fireplaces, private terraces and woven Navajo rugs, and run from guestrooms in an old-growth tree grove to suites, multi-bedroom casitas near the trout stream and a 12-bedroom Bunkhouse built from reclaimed barn wood. A day here can start with a guided trail ride into the Santa Fe National Forest, a fly fishing trip or a hike, and end at SkyFire, where Southwestern dishes come off a wood-fired grill, with Stream Dance Spa and a temperature-regulated pool and hot tub on the grounds.
