Chilamate Rainforest Eco Retreat
A family-run conservation and sustainable-tourism project on the Sarapiquí River at Chilamate, founded by Davis Azofeifa, a native of Sarapiquí, and Meghan Casey, who live on site with their children. Its private reserve holds about 6 km of trails through lowland rainforest in the heart of the San Juan-La Selva Biological Corridor, close to La Selva Biological Station and Braulio Carrillo National Park, with monkeys, pacas, birds and frogs. The rooms sit on the edge of the reserve above the river, joined by covered walkways; breakfast is included, night walks with local naturalist guides are arranged on request, and what guests spend funds the family's conservation and community work. Booked for you by an affiliated travel advisor.
