Santa Lucia Jungle Hacienda
A hacienda-style hotel on the banks of a river at the threshold of Carara National Park, near Tárcoles on the central Pacific, set within its own 150-hectare protected reserve. Trails cross the reserve, guided birdwatching tours run on the hotel grounds, and guests meet scarlet macaws overhead and capuchin monkeys in the treetops; next door, Carara's transition forest is where the dry forest of the north meets the wetter rainforest of the south. Every room looks out to the mountains, and in the eight Deluxe River Bliss rooms the sound of the river is part of the stay. Two restaurants, a tavern, the Sukia spa, three pools and a kids club. Booked for you by an affiliated travel advisor.
