Selva Verde Lodge

A rainforest lodge on its own reserve of some 500 acres beside the Sarapiquí River at Chilamate, about two hours from San José, taking in nature travellers since 1986. The buildings stand on platforms joined by covered walkways through the forest, and the reserve, more than 300 acres of it primary rainforest, sits in the San Juan-La Selva Biological Corridor and protects a great almendro tree, the tree the Great Green Macaw depends on. The lodge's naturalist guides lead a daily early bird walk, guided forest walks and night hikes. The dining hall and the Selvita Bar look over the river, and there is a pool. Booked for you by an affiliated travel advisor.
