Set out at first light as the Pantanal wakes, howler monkeys calling across the wetlands while your guide scans for jaguars. Days later you glide up an Amazon tributary as the canopy stirs overhead. This personalized Brazil journey runs from Rio's iconic coast into two of the continent's wildest regions. Your Destination Expert tailors wildlife activities to your energy, pace, and interests. The lodge has a Private Reserve with more than 29,652 acres (46 square miles), an area two times larger than Manhattan island. This pristine forest reserve is home to a large variety of habitats and natural communities, allowing guests to see wildlife in its natural state of being. The private reserve is divided in geographical zones with different purposes such as tourism, conservation, research and monitoring. This area is managed by the Cristalino Ecological Foundation in partnership with Flora & Fauna International. Your arrival is made through the city of Alta Floresta, in the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil. The lodge is only accessible by boat. After arrival in Alta Floresta, there will be a 1 ½ hour transfer by car and a ½ hour boat ride.
