Photograph Southern Right Whales, Patagonia, Argentina

In-water photography of southern right whales at Peninsula Valdes, Argentina, where the whales come into shallow water during the southern winter and are curious about boats and swimmers. The trip runs under a government photographic permit, so it is open only to professional or serious photographers and videographers with experience, each bringing a dSLR or mirrorless camera in a housing or an equivalent video setup; the operator asks to be emailed about the requirements. Five days on the boat plus one back up day for weather, because Patagonian weather is highly variable and there is a good chance of days being cancelled. Led by Caine Delacy. Included: seven nights of accommodation, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks on the water, a local guide and captain. Not included: flights, dinner and other meals, gratuities and travel insurance, which is required.

Booking is arranged by an affiliated travel advisor, not by Your Naturalist. Your Naturalist does not operate or sell this tour; prices shown are the operator's own published per-person rates, and deposits, payment schedules and cancellation terms are the operator's own. A request from this page reaches the travel advisor directly, who confirms the departure and rate with the operator and assists before and during travel.
