Swim with Humpback Whales, Mo'orea, French Polynesia

Five full days on the water off Mo'orea, French Polynesia, from about 7:30 or 8 am to 3:30 or 4 pm, with no half days. Humpbacks come to these warm, shallow waters each year to give birth, nurse their calves and find mates, and the days are spent looking for their behaviour: singing males, mother and calf pairs, heat runs, and humpbacks travelling with other species. August and September are when the migration is most active; by October it shifts to mothers with young calves. Groups are limited to five clients. You need to be comfortable swimming in the open ocean with mask, snorkel and fins, without flotation. Led by the founder, marine biologist Dr. Caine Delacy. Included: lunch and non-alcoholic drinks on the water, a local guide and captain, and professional digital images from the expedition. Not included: accommodation, which guests choose themselves within a set area, flights and the ferry to Mo'orea, airport transfers, gear and gratuities.
