Anse Chastanet Resort

A resort on a private estate of 600 tropical acres on the south-west coast near Soufrière, designed by its architect-owner Nick Troubetzkoy: a dozen rooms stand behind the palms of Anse Chastanet beach and the rest climb a flower-decked hillside with views of the Pitons. The estate fronts two bays within a marine reserve, and the reef off the beach, home to more than 150 species of fish, is snorkelled straight from the sand; the resort's dive centre, Scuba St. Lucia, runs daily diving and a coral nursery programme. The resort says four of Saint Lucia's five endemic birds, among them the St Lucia Warbler and the St Lucia Oriole, can be found in its grounds, and its biking and hiking trails wind through the old Anse Mamin plantation. Every stay includes beach chairs and towels, snorkel gear, windsurfers, kayaks, Sunfish sailing and paddle boards, daily yoga, guided walks on the estate and the daily boat shuttle to the second beach at Anse Mamin. Children from age 8. Booked for you by an affiliated travel advisor.
