Cougar Ridge Resort
A ranch resort on 60 acres near the town of Torrey, in southern Utah's red rock country and minutes from Capitol Reef National Park. Guests stay in casitas and villas whose decks look out over red rock cliffs and farm fields, from a single room with a king bed to a two-story three-bedroom villa with a full kitchen, or take The Grand Lodge, a sandstone house for families and groups with four master suites, a theater room, a bowling alley and horse stables with an outdoor riding arena, on a two-night minimum. It is a working ranch with longhorns, horses, cows, donkeys, goats and alpacas, and there is a heated outdoor pool and hot tub open all year, saunas and steam rooms, a fitness center, e-bikes to rent and massage in your room or by the pool. Breakfast is complimentary at the reception center from 7 to 10 am; there is no restaurant on site, so other meals are catered by arrangement, cooked in the units with kitchens and grills, or found at restaurants nearby. Guided hiking and off-road trips into Capitol Reef, fly fishing, canyoneering and a dark-sky tour are run by outside outfitters the resort names. Booked for you by an affiliated travel advisor.
