El Toucanet Lodge

A small family lodge in the valley of Copey de Dota, at almost 2,000 metres in the Los Santos Forest Reserve, with Los Quetzales National Park and the Cerro Vueltas Biological Reserve on the mountains around it. The lodge runs birdwatching tours for the Resplendent Quetzal and keeps its own bird list, and a path crosses part of the property through mountain forest and pasture. Standard rooms are built of local wood with a balcony onto the view; two Junior Suites add a jacuzzi and a fireplace. A large restaurant cooks with produce mostly grown in the area. Booked for you by an affiliated travel advisor.
