Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge
Eight waterfront cabins on Fox Island in Resurrection Bay, twelve miles south of Seward and reached only by boat: you check in at the Kenai Fjords Tours dock, cruise out watching for puffins, sea otters and Dall’s porpoises, and step off at the island for lunch. Stays are set at two or four nights and include every meal, a guided sea kayak paddle with Sunny Cove, a naturalist guide, the beachfront wood-fired sauna, morning yoga, beach walks and a short forest trail, and the eight-hour Northwestern Fjord cruise through Kenai Fjords National Park on the way home. Cabins look onto the ocean or a lagoon, with a private bathroom and battery-powered lighting; wine and beer are extra, and the lodge takes no guests under twelve.
