Paraiso Quetzal Lodge

A family-run lodge at 2,600 metres on Cerro Buena Vista, at kilometre 70 of the Inter-American Highway, between Tapantí and Los Quetzales national parks and about two hours south of San José. Its 80-hectare private reserve of oak cloud forest has five trails to rivers, four waterfalls and fossils, an observation deck over the canopy, and a hummingbird garden around the restaurant and bungalows. The lodge runs guided quetzal tours that support the Kabek conservation project. Private wooden bungalows in three categories, and the Los Colibríes restaurant, cafe and bar.
