Explorer Camp
White Desert's Alpine-style camp beneath T-Rex Mountain in Queen Maud Land, surrounded by ice fields that run to the horizon, and the launch point for its South Pole expedition. The camp is deliberately simple: six heated bedroom tents with translucent panels and floor-to-ceiling windows, each with a private toilet and washing facilities and a writing desk, with showers in shared facilities. Guided days bring ice climbing, rappelling, glacier treks, nunatak hikes, fat biking, rock climbing, ice caves, a zipline and cross-country skiing, and evenings can end at the Aurora Movie Theatre with drinks from the Ice Bar. Stays are fixed, all-inclusive programmes flown from Cape Town. Booked for you by an affiliated travel advisor.
