Araras Pantanal Eco Lodge

A lodge of 19 rooms on the Transpantaneira in the northern Pantanal, 132 km south of Cuiabá and about two hours by road, open all year. Its private reserve of nearly 3,000 hectares takes in riverside forest, wetland, flooded fields, acuri palm forest and dry forest, with more than 21 km of trails, boardwalks over the wet ground and three observation towers, the tallest 25 metres. Naturalist guides lead the outings: walks, rides on Pantaneiro horses, two-person canoes along forested riverbanks, and open-vehicle photo safaris by day and after dark. Rooms have air conditioning, a ceiling fan and screened windows; there is a pool, a bar and restaurant cooking with the farm's own produce, a reading room and verandas hung with hammocks. Booked for you by an affiliated travel advisor.
