Chan Chich Lodge

A jungle lodge built in the plaza of an ancient Maya site on the Gallon Jug Estate in northwestern Belize, safeguarding 30,000 acres of private reserve that form part of over 500,000 acres of protected land managed with the Belize Maya Forest Trust. Thatched cabanas and a two-bedroom villa sit among the mounds, screened and fan-cooled, with decks and hammocks facing the trees. Over 375 bird species have been recorded on the property and nine miles of maintained trails run out from the door, and the lodge runs early morning bird walks and guided birding drives in open-air safari trucks out to the far corners of the estate. A screened swimming pool and jacuzzi, a tropical bar and a kitchen that punches well above the remoteness. Booked for you by an affiliated travel advisor.
