Pousada São João Ecotur
A family farm pousada on the Estrada Parque Pantanal in the southern Pantanal of Mato Grosso do Sul, on land the family has conserved since 1970. Guided walks look for the wildlife and plants of the Pantanal; horse rides stay within the farm, through flooded ground, islands of forest and open fields where hyacinth macaws are the highlight; a boat runs from the Miranda River to where it meets the Rio Vermelho, each river keeping its own colour, with a stop to swim and the sunset on the way back; safari vehicles drive the Estrada Parque toward the Paraguay River; and piranhas are fished with bamboo poles, catch and release. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner of Pantanal cooking, and there is a bar, a pool, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning and a multilingual team. Booked for you by an affiliated travel advisor.
