Mystic River Resort

An off-grid, solar-powered jungle resort of fifteen suites on 73 acres of rainforest along the Macal River in the Cayo District, at Mile 6 on the Cristo Rey Road, about 20 to 25 minutes' drive from San Ignacio. The suites are built into the hillside from locally sourced materials, with fireplaces, private patios and river and rainforest views, and the four Cloud9 Suites add a private plunge pool and an open-air shower; by design there is no air conditioning. The organic gardens and farm supply La Ranita, the open-air restaurant above the river, and there is a wood-fired pizza restaurant and bar by the two pools and La Palapa Bar looking over the river. Canoes, river tubes and paddle boards, jungle trails, birding and night hikes start on the property, with a spa and a river-view yoga deck to come back to. Booked for you by an affiliated travel advisor.
